I want to know if everything learned in the course (aside from shortcuts) is applicable to Eclipse or if there are some differences in the frameworks. Thanks
The course is platform agnostic. You can use Eclipse if you like, though some of the shortcuts will be different. You can always download the community edition of IntelliJ which is free, or follow along in Eclipse, JavaBeans or any other Java IDE.
