Want to learn React, but with javascript not typescript

Hello,
I am currently in college studying computer science, and want to get started with React.

I would prefer to learn react with javascript since there are alot of companies around me that use react + java with spring boot, for full stack positions. But they mostly only mention javascript used in react. I see that the react courses use typescript, but was wondering if the react 16 course uses javascript, and if that would be a good choice.

I know mostly Java from before and thats also the language I am using in my datastructs and algorithms class. Excited to start working on some full stack web apps, but need more experiance with react first.
