Visual studio code and python 3.10

Hi, i was wondering if the visual studio code I installed is ok for the python course: Visual Studio Code - Code Editing. Redefined, so I got the apple silicon version of visual studio code because I have the m1 mac, I also have python 3.10 instead of 3.7, also I cant find pylint so I got Linter instead, some things or features seem a bit different to the one mosh is using in his python course videos, and is it ok if I just use pycharm instead of visual studio code, pycharm seems more simple and less confusing compared to visual studio code
