Any operating system can work just fine for programming. Some people prefer Windows because they are already familiar with it. Some prefer MacOS because they like that interface (and it has a bash shell for the terminal). Others prefer Linus/Unix because they do not want to shell out the money to Microsoft or Apple and they like open source solutions.
In my experience, most professional programmers end up using MacOS or Linux/Unix, but I think it has more to do with the culture than any significant advantages those offer.
Well, in my opinion, both Windows and Mac are good options for programming; secondly, it depends on your requirements, preferences, and priorities.
Honestly, if we talk about performance in between both of them, Mac is good as compared to Windows.
