SQL database reporting with Crystal Reports

Has anyone used Crystal Reports to interface with SQL databases? Is there another, better tool to create reports?

Hi.
I did work on a project when I was a trainee many years back. It happens I did not do this part myself.

I found 2 articles with alternatives. On the project I talked about, it was about producing invoices for a client right from the software. I was told again about it but never touched this myself. I wonder in what proportion could Microsoft Access or Libre Office Impress fit your need. (But on MS side Power BI seems closer and more modern).
