Error: 3306 with user root

So I’m on the “Installing MySQL on Windows” and I just installed the program, but I’m already having problems. I select “Store in Vault…” create a password but then I get an error that says “Failed to Connect to MySQL at 127.0.0.1:3306 with user root.”

Any one else having this issue?

Okay I found a solution.

  1. Log in to MySQL Installer
  2. Select Reconfigure on MySQL Server
  3. Stick with all default settings
  4. In the Accounts and Roles page, set your password and click Next.
  5. In Apply Configuration click Execute
  6. Click Finish
  7. Go back to Workbench, give connection a name, click Store in Vault…, fill in password, and click Test Connection.
