I’ve been trying to install mySql. i use a MacBook air 2017, with macos catalina installed. My computer has refused to install mysql. How can I go around this?
Hi,
I don’t know the apple ecosystem much. But I know it is based on Unix and therefore pretty close to Linux in some aspects.
You have a package manager so you should have a version thought to work with your version in the worst of case.
Otherwise I would advise to try the latest installer on the official MySQL Site.

From what I see you should install version 8.0.25 for Catalina.
As of your error it could likely be related to incompatible version.
Otherwise it would be nice to give more information so anyone could try helping.
Cheers.
EDIT:
It could actually even be 8.0.27
Thanks for the link, I try it and it work on my Mac OS 10.15.7
