# Solution for docker: invalid reference format: repository name must be lowercase

Hello – if anyone comes up against this error:

```auto
docker: invalid reference format: repository name must be lowercase.

```

when running something similar to this:

```auto
docker run -d -p 5001:3000 -v $(pwd):/app react-app

```

then try wrapping the volume mapping paths in quotes e.g.

```auto
docker run -d -p 5001:3000 -v "$(pwd):/app" react-app

```
