# GitLens in git: Lesson 19

Hello,

I am wondering whether we for using GitLens in VScode should pay? Because it has just a free trial for some days and I cannot follow the course for this GitLens.

Hi,  
I did not take the Git course here. If Mosh gives you paid tools you can either use the trial for the course period and then change to a free tool.  
What features is GitLens providing you ?  
You’ll certainly find alternatives.

I personally rather use GIT Bash and GIT Ahead (which is an external tool) but I have [Git Graph](https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=mhutchie.git-graph) in VS Code.
