# Error: Git log --oneline in reverting migration (Django part - 1)

When I type `git log --oneline` in terminal, it show `not a git repository (or any of the parent directories): .git`

How to resolve this error? Please Help me.

I had the same issue and many more issues with git. Then I realized Mosh has been using Git since the very beginning of the course, but he didn’t mention. If you’d like to use git then you should learn how to use it with another course, but it is not necessary for lesson 6 on reverting migrations.
