# Django debugging in vs code

While debugging my models in django with vs code I am getting error  
Requested setting INSTALLED\_APPS, but settings are not configured. You must either define the environment variable DJANGO\_SETTINGS\_MODULE or call settings.configure() before accessing settings.  
please help
